Obama/Brewer

Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer says she meant no disrespect when she pointed a finger at President Barack Obama during an intense discussion on an airport tarmac. But the Republican governor says the Democratic president showed disrespect for her by abruptly ending their conversation.

After reading this, my first thought was, “This sounds like it’s from The Onion…” It isn’t.

Exercise

Exercise. Something most of us don’t get enough of, and I’m no exception. I don’t run. I don’t lift weights. I’m pretty lazy. Occasionally, I do like to walk though. It’s easy enough, and I can enjoy my surroundings while burning off some calories. Today, I decided to take a walk during lunch like I often do. My walks consist of going to the gas station and back. I like to reward myself once I arrive at the gas station by buying a 44 oz. Dr. Pepper. And because I just walked a few blocks, I feel less guilty about ingesting enough sugar to hold me over for a week.

Getting Started… Sort of

So, if you’ve actually looked at any of my previous posts, you might have noticed that they’re… well.. short and sweet. I guess I have trouble finding something interesting to say. But then it hit me! I don’t have to say anything interesting. So here I am. Telling you something completely insignificant. Spread the word and rejoice, for I have taken the first step!

I guess I’m sorta hoping that something miraculous will just *appear* in front of me and translate into a story.

Sit tight.

The Passerine Bird

Who doesn’t dream of starting an inaccurate trend?

The Passerine Bird

passerine is a bird of the order Passeriformes, which includes more than half of all bird species. Sometimes known as perching birds or, less accurately, as songbirds, the passerines form one of the most diverse terrestrial vertebrate orders: with over 5,000 identified species,[1] it has roughly twice as many species as the largest of the mammal orders, the Rodentia. It contains over 110 families, the second most of any order of vertebrates (after the Perciformes).

I’ve chosen the name The Passerine Bird for a new acoustic band-thing I’m starting. So far, I have one cover up, and two originals. I hope to record more covers and gain a little more recognition.

Check it out :)

Okay, fellow runners:  What’s up with the not-greeting-each-other thing?  I see the same ten or twenty people in the exact same places along the trail by my house every single morning, and so naturally I say hello to them every single morning.  And still some of them literally squirm with discomfort when I do.  What’s the problem here?!  My head is very simple on this count, and I’m thinking, “You’re a runner!
